Every year I like to treat my wife on our anniversary. Most people obviously commemorate their anniversaries with the appropriate gift for the year but I always like to do a little something on top just to make the day a bit more special. Last year I took my wife to Paris for the weekend. It had the wonderful effect of really rekindling the romance between us and we have been a different couple ever since. I am a firm believer that you really have to show someone just how much you love them in order to get the most out of your relationship.

This year I didn’t have quite the same amount of money as I had had the year before, but I was still confident that I would be able to spring a great surprise. This time round I booked us both into a country house hotel just a few miles away from our home. I know it was close to where we lived but once we were there we might as well be a hundred miles away. The hotel has about one hundred acres of grounds and with two golf courses which I would very much enjoy! The hotel also catered superbly for my wife with a full spa a beauty therapy centre which I knew she would love.

I decided to surprise her with the news via a bouquet of flowers with a note in the morning delivered to the door. I found a lovely bouquet of roses online and I had them arrive by ten in the morning. Needless to say she was delighted and I could already tell on the way to the Hotel that we were going to have a wonderful weekend.
